MEET THE PASTOR
Mike Burnette, Lead Pastor
Mike finds himself doing many things. He is first a husband to Stephanie and a father to his girls, Lucy & Julia. Mike is a singer, preacher, jazz performer, voice teacher/coach, lover of people, dreamer, a coffee drinker, and an aspiring globe trekker. He has a bachelor's degree of music in vocal performance from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville and completed his Master of Divinity at the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary with a concentration in Expository Preaching.
Pastor Mike recently served as Young Adult Pastor at Evangel Temple in Springfield, Missouri. Before seminary, he was the Youth Pastor at Knoxville Christian Center. He is an accomplished singer, having sung in various large churches in the US, is the lead singer of a Jazz Band, and has performed with different opera companies in Missouri and Tennessee. He has been an adjunct professor of music - voice at Evangel University and is an adjudicator and workshop clinician for the Assemblies of God National Fine Arts Festival in various areas of music and preaching.
Mike is very excited to be the Lead Pastor at Cornerstone Worship Center. This is a place with a great future and he is eager to lead this church into its next season. He and Stephanie are glad to be back home in Tennessee. In the Fall, you will find the whole family passionately cheering the UT Volunteers on to victory!
